About This Service

Why Most Driveways Fail – and How We Avoid It

Gravel ruts, potholes and alligator cracking almost always start underneath. We remove soft soil, grade so water runs off the drive, and compact a crushed-stone base before paving.

Whether it’s a short in-town drive or a long run off a county road, we size the asphalt for what drives on it – from daily cars to boat trailers and work trucks.

  • Gravel-to-asphalt conversions
  • Full replacements
  • Long rural drives
  • Proper crushed base
  • Drainage built in
  • Clean, finished edges

What Our Customers Say

After fighting with gravel and weeds for 15 years, I finally decided to have my driveway paved. I cannot recommend AXE enough. Robert came out and gave me an estimate, and then they had the new driveway installed about 2 weeks later. It was definitely worth the wait. I was super impressed by the entire process. The new driveway looks great!

FAQ

Asphalt Driveway Questions

Straight answers to what customers ask us most.

Still have questions?

Talk to the crew directly. No call center.

Should I go with asphalt or concrete for my driveway?

Depends on the use and the budget. Asphalt costs less up front, goes down faster and handles ground movement better, but it needs sealing every few years. Concrete costs more to start and lasts longer with less upkeep.

How long does an asphalt driveway last?

With a proper base and sealcoating every 2–3 years, an asphalt driveway typically lasts 15–20 years or more.

Can you pave over my gravel driveway?

Usually, yes. We grade and compact the existing gravel as part of the base, adding crushed stone where it's thin, then pave.

Should I sealcoat my new driveway?

Yes, once it has cured – typically within the first year – and then every few years to protect it from sun, water and oil.

Do you charge for estimates?

No. Estimates are free on residential and commercial jobs. We come out, measure and give you a price.
